How to put on your wig:

For the most seamless look, make sure your hair is braided on the smallest neatest braids. Additionally, make sure your edges are gelled back and lying flat.

  • Take the wig out of the box and remove any protective packaging and proceed to wear the wig. Place the wig upside down and put the lace on your
  • Adjust the wig so that is it sitting in the correct position. If there is a parting make sure that it is in line with the parting in your braids.
  • There is an adjustable band for tightening purposed, if needed.
  • Style the wig as you desire.

Things to do to increase the lifespan of your wig

  • Ideally, store your wig on a mannequin head when you remove it so it can maintain your preferred style. The lace on ColoursbyK wigs are delicate so handle with care,
  • Wash and condition your wig regularly as the hair used is real human hair. Treat it like you would treat your natural hair.
  • Wash the wigs a minimum every two weeks and deep condition every 2/3 washes.
  • Use a heat protectant when using heated styling tools to minimise split ends and heat damage.
  • Brush/comb your wig from the tips to the roots – this reduces shedding
  • Use a paddle brush or wide tooth comb to detangle. Only use a small tooth comb for styling.
  • Air dry the hair after a wash

Things to not do

  • Do not apply too much product and heat to your wig.
  • Do not place high heat products on any part of the wig. It will burn the lace.
  • Leave your wig to deep condition on a hot radiator, hair dryer or microwave, you will damage the hair!
  • Do not over brush or comb the wig as it will reduce longevity of the wig

How to wash and deep condition straight/wavy hair

  1. 1.On a wig head or on your head, use a paddle brush to detangle the hair.
  2. Wet the hair thoroughly with lukewarm water.
  3. Shampoo the hair from the root to tip, using your fingers to distribute the product. (Hold the wig upright and gently from the lace front or lace closure to avoid tangling.
  4. Rinse well.
  1. Repeat steps 3 & 4 to your desired effect.
  2. Generously apply a deep conditioner/masque of your choice. Apply it starting from the tips and working your way up to the roots using your fingers to distribute the product.
  3. Wrap the wig the tightly in cling film or a plastic bag for at least 4-6 hrs to allow for a deep condition.
  4. Remove the and cling film or plastic bag rinse thoroughly. Ensure all the product has been rinsed out.
  5. Leave to air dry on a mannequin head until both the hair and the mesh cap are completely dry.
  6. Style as desired (styling videos available on IGTV and YouTube.

How to wash and deep condition deep wave/curly hair

  1. Part the hair into a minimum of 3 sections if curls are tight.
  2. Detangle the hair with a wide tooth comb
  3. Wet the hair thoroughly with lukewarm water.
  1. Apply a conditioner of your choice and run your finger through the hair to remove any major tangles
  2. Using a wide tooth comb, detangle the hair.
  3. Remove the sections from the wig and wet it thoroughly with lukewarm water.
  4. Shampoo the hair from the root to tip, using your fingers to distribute the product. (Hold the wig upright and gently from the lace front or lace closure to avoid tangling
  5. Rinse well.
  6. Repeat steps 7&8 to your desired effect.
  7. Towel dry the hair to remove the excess water. Do not rub the hair, use a squeezing motion.
  8. Generously apply a deep conditioner/masque of your choice. Apply it starting from the tips and working your way up to the roots using your fingers to distribute the product.
  9. Wrap the wig the tightly in cling film or a plastic bag for at least 4-6 hrs toallow for a deep condition.
  10. Remove the and cling film or plastic bag rinse thoroughly. Ensure all the product has been rinsed out.
  11. Leave to air dry on a mannequin head until both the hair and the mesh cap are completely dry.
  12. Style as desired (styling videos available on IGTV and YouTube.
